10-12-18 Fishing Report

After the all-day rains yesterday the rivers are still in good shape considering with all of them fishable by boat with not a lot of stain from the rain and runoff. The upper West Branch at Stilesville is running 1450 cfs and 60 degrees and downriver at Hale Eddy we have 2550 cfs and 59 degrees. The West Branch’s stain to the water hasn’t changed too much with the rain, still offering a few feet of visibility, good water for streamers. The East Branch at Harvard is now running 1270 cfs and 57 degrees and the lower East Branch at Fishs’ Eddy 3190 cfs and 55 degrees due to the Beaverkill pumping in 1460 cfs and 56 degrees. The East above the Beaverkill is going to be your best bet for clean water until the Beaverkill drops a bit. We’ve still had some pretty good fishing lately, aside from yesterday with all the rain, with good streamer water and some bugs in the afternoon hours. Blue Winged Olives in the #18-22 range along with some caddis and maybe a few Isonychia have been the bugs to look out for. It looks like we’ve officially hit fall with much cooler temps from here on out with highs in the low. Lotsa’ Luck
