10-8-18 Fishing Report

Today is starting out cloudy with temps in the low 60’s after a warm night last night and clouds all day today. The river levels haven’t changed too much over the weekend and the fishing was good, mostly with streamers and a few dries in the afternoon. Stilesville on the upper West is running 1470 cfs and 60 degrees and down at Hale Eddy we have 2100 cfs and 60 degrees as well. The West Branch is still running with a good stain to the water, normal for this time of year, but it’s actually beneficial for the streamer fishing. The East Branch at Harvard is running 1190 cfs and 51 degrees and below the Beaverkill at Fishs’ Eddy we have 2080 cfs and 56 degrees with good clarity throughout the river. The main Delaware at Lordville is running 4510 cfs and 59 degrees and is pretty clear as you move down from the junction. If you’re in the area and are looking to wade the Beaverkill is the only option with a flow of 700 cfs and 58 degrees. The streamer fishing has been very consistent lately in the higher water and some beautiful fish are being caught daily. In the afternoon we are seeing some Blue Winged Olives and some caddis and there has been some good dry fly fishing, especially on the East and mainstem. It looks like good cloud cover today and tomorrow then rain most of the day Wednesday. Lotsa’ Luck
